–Based on the establishment of the Doppler LIDAR network in Osaka, Providing Wind Observation Information for Safe Operation of Flying Cars and Drones at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan-

 

Metro Weather Co., Ltd.(Head Office: Uji, Kyoto; President & CEO: Jun-ichi Furumoto; hereinafter “Metro Weather”) develops and manufactures 3D wind observation product (Doppler LiDAR) that visualizes wind gusts and turbulence in real time, which is essential information for the safe and reliable operation of flying cars and drones, and for takeoff and landing. The Doppler LiDAR is a 3D wind observation device that provides real-time visualization of wind gusts and turbulence. Based on the establishment of the Doppler LiDAR network in Osaka, we have obtained a License for Forecasting Services (License No. 236) from the Japan Meteorological Agency under Article 17-1 of Meteorological Service Act with a view to providing wind condition information that will contribute to the safe operation of flying cars and drones at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. We will continue to develop our business to support the safe and stable operation of drones and flying vehicles based on weather forecast information obtained by expanding the Doppler LiDAR network and fusing ultra-high-resolution weather forecast models with measurement data obtained by the Doppler LiDAR.
