Selected for NEDO “Important Technology Development Program for Economic Security / Wind Condition Observation Technology for Flight Paths of Small Unmanned Aircraft that contributes to Aviation Safety”
Metro Weather’s research and development has been selected for NEDO Important Technology Development Program for Economic Security / Wind Condition Observation Technology for Flight Paths of Small Unmanned Aircraft that contributes to Aviation Safety
―Toward Ultra-Multi-Channel and Ultra-High-Resolution Doppler Lidar for Wind Observation and Practical Application of the System onboard a Flying Vehicle―
Metro Weather Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Uji, Kyoto; President & CEO: Jun-ichi Furumoto; hereinafter “Metro Weather”) develop and manufacture Doppler LiDAR, a 3D wind observation product that visualizes wind gusts and turbulence in real time, which is essential information for drones and flying vehicles to operate, take off and land safely and securely.
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (hereinafter “NEDO”) has announced that Metro Weather has been selected by NEDO“Important Technology Development Program for Economic Security / Wind Condition Observation Technology for Flight Paths of Small Unmanned Aircraft that contributes to Aviation Safety” based on the proposal by Metroweather to develop a super multi-channel, super high-resolution Doppler LiDAR for wind observation and to develop a flight vehicle-installed system.
We will continue to improve the spatial resolution of this product and to implement its functionality for installing on flying objects and detecting suspicious drones and other objects.
