Today, on Friday, August 2, Metro Weather participated in the “Summer Holiday Monozukuri Fest in Industrial Promotion Center” held at the Uji Industrial Promotion Center, where our Quality Control Center is located.

We conducted two sessions of factory tours for parents and kids of elementary school students to foster Uji Venture Businesses, and 10 people participated. Two of our engineers showed and explained with slides and data on “How we see things,” “How we see the wind,” “Doppler LiDAR produced by Metro Weather,” while conversing with parents and children.

After the lecture, we explained the inner parts of our Doppler LiDAR on the first floor, and visitors were able to see how Doppler LiDAR starts and stops from a PC even remotely. At the “1mJ(1 millijoule) Spatial Optics Research Area,” visitors looked and touched the tools used in the experiments together, asked questions of the optics engineers with great interest, and took photos and videos wearing the tools.

The children’s keen interest and excitement was hotter than the scorching heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius sizzling outside.

We will continue to engage in social contribution activities for children with unlimited potential in cooperation, collaboration and shared values with the local community, government, companies and various organizations.
